They settled in the vicinity of Schafferstown and Millbach near the southern boundary of present Lebanon County. Seven known children, Adam Jr., Frederick, John, Michael, Elisabetha, Jacob and Henry were all born there. Michael and Jacob died young. In the early 1770s the family came to what is now Snyder County.
Adam was a member of the Committee of Safety in 1776. At various times he served as assistant tax collector, constable, election certifier, road viewer and township supervisor.
He was a member of the Hassinger's Church congregation and is assumed to be buried in the old cemetery but there is no grave marker for him in any cemetery.
