Mavis Hauge, 75, of Fergus Falls died Saturday, May 21, 2011, at her home.

Mavis Lorraine Hauge was born Nov. 11, 1935, in Underwood, to Oscar and Ragna (Stolson) Elshaug. She was baptized Aug. 14, 1936, and confirmed Oct. 30, 1939. Mavis attended country school at Underwood and graduated from Underwood High School.

On Aug. 19, 1960, she married at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls by Pastor Knick. In 1958, she began working at Lake Region Hospital.

She then worked for Montgomery Ward and in 1980 began working at K-Mart, retiring after 30 years in 2010.
She had been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church since 1960 where she served as a greeter and was active with LHCH.
She volunteered at the food shelf in Fergus Falls and enjoyed planning a family reunion every August.

She is survived by her husband, Larry; three daughters, June (Gary) Hendrickson of Moorhead, Lori VanWechel and Carrie Hanson both of Fergus Falls; five grandchildren, Matthew (Anne) Hendrickson, Heather Carlson, Lindsey (Nick) Leinen, Lucas Hanson and Jordan VanWechel; a
great-grandchild, Simon Carlson and the arrival of a great-granddaughter Hendrickson in July; two sisters, Lillian Franke and Mary Ann (Glen) Kenyon both of Fergus Falls; two brothers, Reuben (Rosella) Elshaug of Ashley, N.D., and Charles Elshaug of Fergus Falls; sisters-in-law, Elaine (Bernie) Sivertson of Conroy, Texas, Darlene Burnes of Alexandria, Cathie (Vernyl) Fronning of Fergus Falls; Geraldine Elshaug of Fergus Falls, Fern Elshaug of Crookston, MN and Berneice Round of Washington; special friends, Vivian Kugler, Arlene Anderson and Marion Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Hal Hauge in 1962; brothers, Edwin, Caroll, Oscar, Jr. and Steven in infancy; a sister, Ester in infancy; a brother-in-law, Jim Burnes; and father and mother-in-law, Harold and Myrtle Hauge.

Visitation: Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service at the church
Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls
