WALTERBORO - Services for Blanchard Hayden Barnes, 94, of 321 Chamblee Rd., will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 6, 1999 at Bethel United Methodist Church with burial in Hagen Cemetery. The Rev. Lee Cothran will officiate. The family will receive friends 7-9 tonight at Brice W. Herndon & Sons Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 407, Walterboro, SC 29488. The funeral home is in charge.

Mr. Barnes died Wednesday, August 4, 1999 at Colleton Medical Center. A native of Bamberg county, he was a son of the late Willie Oscar and Elmina Smith Barnes. He was a retired farmer and member of Bethel United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the John W. Wesley Bible Club. He was a member of the Pep Club.

Surviving are his wife, Jensenia Vaughn Barnes; daughter, Murdelle B. Varner of Walterboro, Mary B. Kinard of Ehrhardt; sister, Ottie B. Kinard of Orangeburg; grandchildren, Terry L. Varner, Donald W. Kinard, Larry D. Varner, Deborah K. Neal; 10 great-grandchildren.
