Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Pansy Elaine Epps Burgess; a son, James Monroe Burgess Jr. of Kingstree; a brother, William E. Burgess Sr. of Greeleyville; two sisters, Mrs. Virginia Smith of Cades and Mrs. J. P. Day of Georgetown; a grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be 3 p.m. Monday at Bethel Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Epps Cemetery. Williamsburg Funeral Home is in charge.
