Mrs. Martha Arnold Dead
Was Born in Scotland County 78 Years Ago, January 16

Mrs. Martha E. Arnold died at her home at Rutledge on Monday, March 28. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. S. Laws at the Etna Methodist Church yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock and interment was in the Etna Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ed Dye, Jesse Dye, Grover Dye, Ernest Dieterich, Carl Oliver, and Donald Arnold.

Mrs. Arnold was born in Scotland County on January 16, 1871 and was 78 years of age last January.

Mrs. Arnold was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Dye of the Etna community. Her entire life, with the exception of the past eight months, was spent in the Round Grove neighborhood.

On November 30, 1898, she was married to Gus A. Arnold. They had three sons, Charles A. Arnold of Gorin; Wilbur Arnold of Arbela; and Clayton Arnold of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.

She is also survived by four brothers, Ed, Jesse and Grover Dye of Arbela and Loss Dye of Keokuk; three sisters, Mrs. Lottie Tombs, Salem, Oregon; Mrs. Retta Cull, Baggs, Wyoming; Mrs. Alta Feltman, Ft. Benton, Montana; fourteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.

She was a member of the Baptist Church.
