Herman Friedrich, 84, who was injured Dec. 24 in an automobile accident, was found dead at 7:30 o'clock Wednesday morning at his home, where he had died in his sleep. The funeral will be held Sunday at Christ Lutheran Church with burial in Christ Lutheran cemetery. "He suffered rib fractures and other injuries in a Highway 81 crash 18 miles north of Norfolk." "Mr. Friedrich was born March 28, 1874, in Germany, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lebrecht Friedrich. He was 14 years old when he came to America and located at Norfolk. He was married Feb. 15, 1899, to Miss Louise Krei. Mr. and Mrs. Friedrich first resided at Dixon and than at Buffalo Gap, S.D., before coming to Norfolk. He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Richard Stulcke and Mrs. William Uttecht of Norfolk, Mrs. Tom Hughes of Wayne, Mrs. Clifford Loeb of Laurel and Mrs. Albert Behrens of Amherst, Colo.; three sons, Edgar Norfolk cit fireman; Clarence and Harry of Torrance, Calif.; 21 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Emma Schlebe of Rapid Cit, and two brothers, Frank of Oral, S.D., and Charles of Alliance. He was preceded in death by his wife, December, 1945. The death will not be recorded as a traffic fatality, the State Safety Patrol said, because the attending physician reported a heart attack was the cause of death."
