She was co-owner of Orra-Jean Beauty Academy. She graduated from Millcreek High School in 1929 and was the captain of its basketball team.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Ames; a sister, Nellie Bolkey; and two brothers, Howard and Roy Bolkey.
Survivors include a niece, Beverly Kacpura of Fairview; two nephews, Harold Bolkey of Fairview and Duane Bolkey of Denver; and several other nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
