It is believed that William Pinkney and his wife Nancy Freeman Persons are buried in the Persons Family Cemetery outside of Yatesville, Georgia. There is an unknown adult grave with the remains of a broken pink granite or marble headstone still remaining. Could this be the marker for William Pinkney Persons.
His father, Jones Persons had died in early 1850 and Pinkney's younger brother, Lovett Persons paid a mason to build a stone wall around their father's plot and large enough for other family members. Their Mother, Diana Neal Persons passed in July 1859 and is in the Persons Cemetery. Pinkney's younger brother Lovett passed in 1862 and he is located next to his wife Malinda who eventually passed in 1908.
