Bessie Marie Butler, age 88 of Troy died, July 16, 2011 at her residence. She was born in Arkansas on March 12, 1923, the daughter of the late Elihue and Ethel Tranham Donnell. Mrs. Butler was a homemaker and a Baptist. She is survived by a daughter, Wanda Moore of Union City; two sons, James "Boots" Butler of Rives and Jimmy Dale Butler of Union City; a sister, Betty Harrell of Troy; ten grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Butler, three brothers and five sisters.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 18 at Cryer Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Stevie Moore, Johnny Butler, Bobby Moore, Jimmy Butler, Jamie Willcutt and Sammie Butler. Honorary pallbearers will be Jamie Fagan and Stratton Moore.
Burial at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, 1400 Mt. Moriah Road, Obion, TN. 38240
