James T Fulham was born in Edgeworthton, County Longford, Ireland about 1800. He immigrated to the United States in about 1826. After spending several years in Philadelphia, he went to Montreal where he was a builder and architect. Later he returned to Philadelphia and at some point moved in New York City before finally relocating to New Orleans with a number of his children.
He died at the family's summer home in Chatawa, Mississippi.
