Bonifacia Soto Armendariz, 84, a lifetime resident of Bayard, entered eternal rest early Monday morning at Gila Regional Medical Center. She was born April 24, 1907, in Fierro. Mrs. Armendariz was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, and was a homemaker. Calling hours were to be from 2-5 p.m. today in Baca's Hillcrest Funeral Chapels. The vigil service will be held this evening at 7 in Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Bayard, where the funeral liturgy service will be held Wednesday morning at 10 with the Rev. Tomas Perez of the Order of Augustinian Recollect Fathers officiating. The committal rite service will follow in the Hurley Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest in the family plot. Survivors include three sons, Ignacio Hernandez and his wife, Elisa, of Tucson, Ariz., Gavino Armendariz and his wife, Rosenda, of Bayard, and Ramon Armendariz and his wife, Mari, of Las Cruces; and five daughters, Hortencia Placencio and her husband, Julian, of Bayard, Clorinda Lerma and her husband, Manuel, of Tucson, Consuelo Muniz and her husband, Jose, of Bayard, Carmen Gomez and her husband, Michael, of Bayard, and Esperanza Jacquez and her husband, Ernest, of Las Cruces. She is also survived by two sisters, Emiteria Flores of San Bernardino, Calif., and Sara Valles of Newbury Park, Calif.; 33 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Casket bearers will be Fred Hernandez, Steve Armendariz, John Placencio, Jimmy Lerma, Joe Ray Muniz, Joe Armendariz, Michael Gomez and Ruben Jacquez. Entrusted to the care of Baca's Hillcrest Funeral Chapels.
