MRS. J.C. BROOKS, THOMAS HILL, DIES
Mrs. Samantha jane Brooks, 68, native of Chariton county, died at 8 o'clock this morning at her home near Thomas Hill following a two week illness.
Mrs. Brooks, daughter of the late Elijah and Ruth Cameron. Mrs. Brooks is survived by her husband, John Calvin Brooks, 10 children, Mrs. Cora McCart, Thomas Hill, Mrs. Meddie Neeson, Moberly, Mrs. Mildred Reed, Cairo; Mrs. Mollie Morris, Granite City, Illinois, Mrs. Edith Wright, Huntsville, Ezra Brooks, LaBelle, Mo., Abner, Granite City, Ill., Frank Lester, Clifton Hill; Alfred Earl and George Thomas of the home, and a sister Mrs. Sarah Gelvin, Kansas City, Kansas.
Funeral services will be held Sunday morning at 11 o'clock by the Rev. Luther Owens of Hubbard. Burial will be in the Harrisburg Cemetery near Columbia.
