Earl Lee Lay passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2011 in Oilton, Oklahoma at the age of 54 years 11 months and 3 days. Earl was born in Sand Springs, Oklahoma on August 14, 1956. He was the son of Earl Dean and Katheryn (Simmions) Lay.

As a young boy Earl was raised in Des Arc, Arkansas. Earl attended schools in Sand Springs but later completed his education in Des Arc. Soon after the completion of his education Earl moved to Sand Springs with his Aunt. He began working at a local fabrication shop and later gained employment with Superior in West Tulsa as a machinist. After the company sold; Earl then went to work in Sapulpa for J & H Machine. On February 14, 1975, Earl was united in marriage in Olive, Oklahoma where they established their initial home. They continued to reside in the area before moving to Oilton where they currently reside. After working for J & H he later gained employment with Advanced Precision where he worked until he was forced into retirement.

Earl enjoyed being outdoors and especially loved to fishing and riding horses. However most of all Earl enjoyed being around his family.

Survivors are his wife of the home; daughter; step father; four brothers; three sisters; one aunt; three grandchildren; as well as a host of other relatives and friends that will mourn his passing.

Earl was preceded in death by his father Earl Dean Lay, mother Katheryn Alverson, sister Linda Roberts, nephew Doug Rhodebush and a brother in law Joel Fisher.

Church Services will be held 10:00 am Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at the Baptist Heritage Church. Burial will be held in the Bad Creek Cemetery in Bryant, Oklahoma. Chapman-Black Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
