Funeral services for Mr. Arthur B. Johnson Jr, 83, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 10:00AM on Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1301 Oliver Road, Monroe, LA, with Pastor Paul McComack officiating. Interment will follow in the Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, Monroe, LA.

Mr. Johnson was born on October 24, 1927, in Philadelphia, PA, and passed away at the Oaks Nursing Home on July 17, 2011.

He was a dedicated member of Trinity Lutheran Church having served as church executive officer and various other offices.

He retired from Olinkraft Corp (Graphics Packaging) after 35 years of service. He was sales manager in the carton operations for soft drink carton sales and was an avid golfer.

He was U.S. Navy veteran and a member of The American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Carl, wife Mary and step son Donald.

Survivors include his sons; Charles Johnson, wife Violet, Arthur B Johnson III, Michael Johnson, step son; Jimmy Higginbotham, wife Margie; two grandchildren, Samantha Hauck and Adam Johnson, two step grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one step great grandchild; sister, Helen Knebel, and brother Ed Johnson.

Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Pall bearers will be: Glenn Combs, Jim Myers, Jim Watson, Skip Bell, Syd Cameron and Skip Fife.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerry Daniels, Chuck Hughes, Bill Carroll, Bob Canterbury, Al Weidman and George Shaeffer.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM on Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at Trinity Lutheran Church until the service at 10:00 AM.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 1301 Oliver Road, Monroe, LA 71201.
