Belding-Lester C Ford, 87, Belding, passed away Friday, Feb. 19, 1999,
at United Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
He was born Feb 9, 1912 in Petoskey, to Lucille Ford.
He was employed for 25 years at McInery-Spring and Wire Co. in Grand Rapids as a high-low driver, retiring in 1977. He was a member of the Wesley Pilgrim Methodist Church.
He married Bertha Smith on Aug. 13, 1939 in Eaton Rapids. She survives with their children, Carol and Gene Nichoson of Belding, Connie and Daniel Reed of Ft. Meyers, Fla, Karen and Larry Peterson of Gowen, Pam and Glenn Herpoisheimer of Grand Rapids, Patrick and Susan Ford of Lowell, Michael Ford, and special friend, Tracy Colle, of Belding; one daughter-in-law, Gail Ford of Greenville; 26 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Jack, in 1962, Jim, in 1985; and one grandson, David Nichoson, in 1985.
Memorial services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Belding, with the Rev. Richard Shindorf officiating. Interment will be in Bostwick Lake Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
