Funeral service for Alvin Ray Dempsey, Sr., 68, of Cache, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 22, 2011 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Cobble, officiating.
Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.
Mr. Dempsey passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Special visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

Alvin was born on February 27, 1943 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Herman F. and Lovie Irene (Randall) Dempsey. He traveled with his family to various Air Force duty stations before he returned to Lawton in 1957 where he attended local schools. He joined the Oklahoma National Guard 1962. Alvin worked as a head baker in the bakery at Herb's Grocery Store and later worked for Wright's Donuts. He married Etta Rose Waysepappy in 1964. He loved riding horses and fishing.
He is survived by his children, Alvin R. Dempsey, Jr., of Lawton, Oklahoma, Tammy Sue Tago and her husband, Dick, of Cache, Oklahoma, and Kimberley Lynn Dempsey, of Pensacola, Florida; his brother, John Dempsey and his wife, Lou, of Peru, Indiana; his sister, Helen Rodriguez, and her husband Antonio, of Lawton, Oklahoma; his former wife, Etta Rose Marin, of Lawton, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Miranda Dempsey, Chelsea Dempsey, Micahallen Dempsey, Samantha Winch, Armando Dempsey, Jordan Dempsey, Katrina Dempsey, Rachel Kolb and her husband, Billy D., Lindsey Kimbrue, Danielle Dorris and her husband, Matt, Daniel Kimbrue, Jr., Cody Tago, Kilani Tago, Rainey Raquel Shuler, Brittanie Nicole Shuler, Suchai Patrick-Leo Vongsvriates, Jr., and Suchae Rene Vongsvrates; 18 great grandchildren; his niece, Tracy Clayborn, of Lawton, Oklahoma and a host of other loving family members and friends.

Mr. Dempsey was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Norma Lee Clayborn, and Betty Faye Dempsey,and his grandson, Alvin R. Dempsey III.
