On 15 August 1894, Laura entered the Santa Fe Novitiate and was given the name of M. Baptist Kimball. There is no record of the form her ministry took. She lived in Santa Fe for ten years and also in Bernalillo. She had a presentment of her death. She told the Sisters whe would die on the Feast of All Saints, but did not die, so she told the Sisters that the "Saints didn't get her but the Souls will". When she died, her trunk was in order, all things were labeled to be sent where indicated in the event of her death.
