Bernice J. Abrahamson, 86, Superior, died Tuesday, July 22, 2008, in the Villa-Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Nov. 28, 1921, in Superior to John and Mary (Kosinski) Ryan.
Bernice married Arne Abrahamson on April 24, 1943, in Superior and celebrated 57 years of marriage before he passed away on July 3, 2000.

She was employed as a ward clerk at St. Mary's Hospital for 16 years before she retired in 1982.
Bernice is a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, an avid reader and fierce bingo player. She enjoyed listening to music.

She is survived by three sons, Dennis (Paulie) Abrahamson, Superior, Dick (Barb) Abrahamson, Rhinelander, and Gary (Jan) Abrahamson, Superior; two daughters, Kathy (Terry) Aspatore, Sycamore, Ill., Patti (Dean) Peters, Brookings, S.D.; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Johnny, Daniel and Eugene; and three sisters, Mary Jane, Eleanore and Leona.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian burial Friday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. James Tobolski will be celebrant.
Burial will be in Lake Nebagamon Cemetery.
Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
