Sunday, 7 March 1999
Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, returned to our Father in Heaven on Friday, March 5, 1999. He was greatly loved and taught his family the true meaning of strength and courage.
E. Dean Alvord was born February 17, 1927, to Earl and Ida Alvord in Ogden, Utah. He married Monty Jean Brown on November 16, 1948; later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Dean served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and worked for Mountain Fuel for 30 years. His pride and joy were his five children. He truly loved and enjoyed his 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was an active member of the LDS church and served in many capacities. Dean was an honest and generous man. A silent, gentle giant with a sense of humor to match and was a perfect example of charity.
He is survived by his wife, Monty; children, Jean (Ken) Corey, Chris (Dan) Spendlove, Bruce (Kollett) Alvord, Becky (David) Norton, Kelly (Amy) Alvord; four brothers, and two sisters.
