Green Sea - Dudley Pete Jackson, 87, died Monday, April 11, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Horry County, a son of the late Rembert and Cherita Strickland Jackson. He was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church and a World War II veteran. Mr. Jackson was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Phillips Jackson.

He is survived by one daughter, Patricia Jackson Hooks of Green Sea; two sisters, Fleetwood Elliott of Nichols and Christine Jackson of Loris; two grandchildren, John and Tammy Hooks, and one very special little girl, Halee Owens, PaPa's girl.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Shepherd Care Hospice, P.O. Box 392, Nichols SC.

Meares Funeral Home of Mullins is honored to serve the family of Mr. Jackson.
