Mary Ellen was the only child of Mary Elizabeth White and Michael Gallagher
Ellen, as she was known to family and friends would marry young to Weldon Augustus Rizzie Powers and have one child by him Mary Lydia Powers. After a divorce from Rizzie she married Walter L Hauk and they had 2 daughters, Florence and Gladys. Florence was born in South Carolina and Gladys in San Diego California where they would spend the rest of their lives, although not together. Another divorce and another marriage this time to Frank Albert Cook English. They were married for 38 years before Ellen's sudden death in 1972 due to complications from leukemia.
Frank and Ellen would have one son, Michael Frank English, 1938.
They lived for many years above the upholstery shop where Frank worked. They moved to 4398 Cherokee Avenue San Diego California and spent the rest of their days there.
Ellen would have 2 of her daughters precede her in death, Mary and Gladys.
She was 5'2", had brown eyes and was right-handed.
