Oran W. Foust, age 85, formerly of Iberia Rd., Mt. Gilead, passed away Sunday July 27, 2002, at his daughter's home in Shauck, OH, following an extended illness.

He was born May 25, 1917, in Westfield, OH, the son of Wilson and Marie (Amich) Foust who precede him in death. A lifelong resident of the Mt. Gilead area, he was a veteran of the United States Army serving during WWII in the 9th Armored Division who seized the old Ludendorff bridge at Remagen, a member of 3 C Co. 2557, and the Nelson Campbell VFW Post 8054.

He is survived by a son Robert K. Foust of New Philadelphia, OH, a daughter Judy Yeater of Shauck, OH, a daughter-in-law Edna Foust of Indiana, a sister Jean Leonard of Mt. Vernon, OH, 8 grandchildren; Shayne & girlfriend Laurie, Bryan & wife Tonya and Tonya Yeater, Kent, Kelli Foust, Amy and husband Jason Hoff and Danny and Bradley Lance, and 5 great-grandchildren; Taylor, Caitlyn, Kolton, & Austin Yeater, and Sarah Gombert.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Marie (Geyer) Foust whom he married April 13, 1940, a son Jerry L. Foust, a sister Imo Clark, and a brother Vernon Foust.

Graveside services will be held at the Iberia Cemetery Wednesday July 31 at 2 p.m. Services in care of Snyder Funeral Home, 76 S. Main St. Mt. Gilead. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
