Betty Jane Hatcher Adams, 65, of Baconton, died Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Willson Hospice House in Albany. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 19 at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home with interment in Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers include Mark Prater, Blake Pollock, Dewayne "Debo" Williams, Aaron Collins, Josh McKoewn, and Jimmy Creech. Honorary pallbearers include Greg McFay and Howard Scarborough.
Born January 19, 1946 in Mitchell County, Mrs. Adams was the daughter of the late Hubert Hatcher. She was married to the late James Raymond Adams. Mrs. Adams retired from Mitchell County School System as a teacher's aid and volunteered for the Baconton Charter School.
Survivors include five children, James Kevin Adams & wife, Kim, of Baconton, Cory Lee Adams & wife, Marie, of Baconton, Todd Franklin Hatcher & wife, Jenny, of Americus, Stacey Hatcher of Baconton, and Brandon Rogers of Baconton; her mother, Mandy Bell N. Hatcher of Baconton; a brother, Clarence F. Hatcher of Baconton; seven grandchildren; Kyndal Adams, Baylee Adams, Taylor Adams, Alea Adams, Jackson Benjamin, Ridge Hatcher, and Michelle Sykes.
The family will receive friends at the residence of Kevin Adams, 171 Bowles Rd., Baconton.
Memorials may be made to Willson Hospice House, 320 Foundation Lane, Albany, GA 31707.
