Services for Mrs. Ruth E. Monach, 71, will be at 10 Friday at the Rupp chapel. Monsignor John Moriarty will officiate and burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery.
Mrs. Monach died unexpectedly Tuesday morning at her home, 3006 South 24th. She was a native of Macon County, Missouri, but had lived in St. Joseph for the past 56 years. She worked at Methodist Medical Center until she retired in 1973.
Mrs. Monach was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
Survivors include one son, James L. Monach of St. Joseph; two sisters, Mrs. Vera Jo Surbeck of St. Joseph, and Mrs. Kathryn Pinner of Phoenix; a brother, Harold Hunsaker of Buffalo, New York; four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert J. Monach, who died in 1948.
