Funeral services for Arthur James Parry, 82, of 1044 West Third South St., former bailiff of Salt Lake City Court, will be conducted Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Fifteenth Ward chapel, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 907 West First South St.
Mr. Parry died Saturday at his residence of causes incident to advanced age.
He was born in England in December, 1866, a son of James Robinson and Leah Lawrence Parry. In 1894 he was married to Sophie Nichols in Bluffdale.
Mr. Parry had been a miner and dairy employee. He served as bailiff of Salt Lake City Court for ten years retiring in 1945. He was a member of the Church.
Survivors, besides his widow, include three daughters, Mrs. Leah P. Church, Portland, Ore; Mrs. Alex (Lilly) Sneddon, Salt Lake City, and Dan (Effie) Mousley, Riverton; three sons, Clyde A. Parry, Bountiful; Joseph J. And Fred F. Parry, Salt Lake City; four brothers, William Leonard, and Heber Parry, Bluffdale, and Lawrence Parry, Murray; a sister, Mrs. Thomas (Alice) Jones, Bluffdale, three half brothers, George and Raymond Parry, Herriman, and Milton Parry, American Fork, and four half sisters, Mrs. Irvin Neilsen, Mrs. Nina Platt, and Mrs. Edward Jeffs, Salt Lake City, and Mrs J. Arthur Sevier, Bountiful, and his stepmother, Mrs. Alice Parry, Salt Lake City, 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at 325 North Main St. Monday from 5 to 8:30 p.m. and Tuesday until 1:30 p.m., and at the ward chapel 20 minutes prior to services. Burial will be in Salt Lake City Cemetery.
