He attended school at Subiaco Academy in Subiaco, Ark., and graduated from St. Francis Borgia High School and Ranken Technical School.
Mr. Post was employed by McDonnell Douglas for 31 years, retiring on May 31, 1991. He returned to the Washington area in 1997.
He served in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1954 to 1956.
Mr. Post was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Dr. John R. Post; and one son, David Post.
He is survived by three sisters, Evelyn Lakebrink and husband Dr. Marvin, Maryn Struckhoff and Jackie Miller and husband Dr. Francis, all of Washington; one sister-in-law, Marianne Post Schwane and husband Richard, Washington; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 12, at St. Francis Borgia Church, Washington, with the Rev. Andrew Sigmund officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery.
Memorials to St. Francis Borgia Renovation Fund or the American Cancer Society are preferred.
