Mary Kathleen Bossie of Charleston died on July 21, 2011 at Hubbard Hospice House after a long illness.
She was born Mary Kathleen Myers in Parkersburg on December 4, 1926, daughter of the late Wilbur and Hazel Myers.

Mary attended Parkersburg High School and graduated from Poca High School in 1942. She entered nursing school at St. Francis Hospital in Charleston in 1943 and graduated in 1946. Her years of dedicated service at St. Francis spanned from 1946 to 1993, and many of these years were spent in a supervisory position. She was known to her co-workers simply as "Bossie."

She was preceded in death by her husband, Shirley Michael Bossie.

She is survived by a brother, Bud Myers and wife, Joan, of Ohio. She is also survived by her children, Mary Louise Holdren and her husband, Bill, of Georgia, Stephen Bossie and wife, Diana, of Ohio, Charles Bossie of Charleston, Joseph Bossie and wife, Debbie, of Georgia, Anne I. Wheeler and her husband, Paul, of Charleston and Andrew Bossie and his wife, Andrea, of Georgia. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and countless other friends and family who were blessed to know her.

She was a faithful member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, where she was a member of the choir.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 2011 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church.

Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m., Monday, July 25, 2011 at St. Anthony's with Father Dennis Klemash officiating. Burial will be at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Anthony's Catholic Church and Hubbard Hospice House.
