Marina Shantay Gomez, 20, of Paul, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2011, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Marina was born Feb. 4, 1991, in Rupert, the daughter of Raul Gomez and Isabel Maria Valero. She attended schools in Paul and graduated from Minico High School in 2009. She also attended the College of Southern Idaho for two years. Marina worked at West End Fire Prevention and King's in Rupert, and also at Four Paws in Paul. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the youth group in Burley. Marina loved spending time with her family and especially spending time with her son. She also loved scrap booking and making watches and head bands. If you named it, she would make it.

Marina is survived by her son, Jerimiah Raul Torres; her mother and stepfather, Maria and Adam Hadden; her grandparents, Joe and Isidra Gomez, Brad and June Hadden and Christy Schaefer; her brothers, Joey Gomez and Gabriell Hadden.

She was preceded in death by her father, Raul Gomez; grandmother and grandfather Valero and Uncle Jessie Valero.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at the Burley First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Paul Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hansen Mortuary Rupert Chapel.

The family would like to thank all of the West End Fire and Rescue, Minidoka Memorial Hospital, St. Luke's Life Flight and St. Luke's pediatric center staff and doctors.
