Mary L. Rose, 76, of Barberton, Ohio, formerly of Oakland, died Monday, July 23, 2007, at the Hospice of Visiting Nurses Service, Copley, Ohio. Born on January 9, 1931, in Turner Douglas, W. Va., she was a daughter of the late George W. Alexander and Grace (Bowser) Alexander Martin. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Freda Stout, and one brother, Russell Alexander. She is survived by her husband of 26 years, James R. Rose, Sr.; one son, Wayne Alexander, Oakland; two step-daughters, Sherry Rose, Akron, Ohio, and Becky Miller, Clinton, Ohio; two step-sons, James F. Rose Jr., Medina, Ohio, and Jonas Rose, Ky.; four sisters, Gladys Flesher, Grafton, W. Va.; Winona Alexander, Oakland; Norma Gallagher, Morgantown, W. Va., and Juanita Shaffer, Mtn. Lake Park; two brothers, Dayton Alexander, Aurora, W. Va., and Howard Alexander, Smithsburg; two grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Friends were received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, where services were held Thursday, July 26, with Pastor Robert Webb officiating. Interment was in Garrett County Memorial Gardens, Oakland.
