Pauline (Adams) Martin, was born April 18, 1913 in Cluttsville, Alabama to Sam and Iona (Moore) Adams. At age 85, she went to be with the Lord, Thursday, Dec. 17, 1998, Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.

Pauline's family relocated to Logan, West Virginia when she was a young girl. In 1930, she met John Anderson Martin. July 31, 1931 they were united in holy matrimony. They nurtured seven children: Eloise "Mot", Earnestean "Baby", Joe "Jokey", Sandra Jean "Jenky", John Jr. "Buddy", Necca Marie "Bludie, and Naomi, who was a great niece of John. Throughout the years, the family of John and Pauline (Adams) Martin would become extended to include five generations: one being John and Pauline themselves, their seven children, twenty-six grandchildren, fifty-five great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren.

She was a member of Second Shiloh Baptist Church, Sunday School and Usher Board; Interdenominations Ushers; Columbus Baptist Pastors Wives and Widows; Interdenominations Ministers Wives; Mt. Calvary Women's Department; Mt Calvary Ministers' Wives and Deaconess; Mt. Calvary Baptist Association; First Lady Emeritus of Phillipi Baptist Church, Pataskala, Ohio; Zion Baptist Church, Madison, West Virginia, Sulphur Springs Baptist Church 7 & 8, Holden, West Virginia; Mt Zion Baptist Church, Huntington, West Virginia; and Electra Chapter of Prince Hall Eastern Stars.

Survived by loving and devoted husband of 69 years, Rev. John A. Martin, Sr.; sons, Joe (Ramona) Martin; Rev.'s John (Phyllis) Martin, Jr. of Huntington; daughters, Eloise Brittan; Enerstine (Winifred) Allen; Sandra J. Reeves; Necca Teamer; 26 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren; sister, Ealler McGahee; Bertha Garrett; brother and sisters-in-law, Thomas Sanderfer; Ruth Adams; Elizabeth Finley, Beatrice Smith; many nieces, nephews, cousins, the Second Shiloh Baptist Church Family and other relatives and friends.
