Drucie Lee Wofford, 92, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at a local hospital.

He was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Army.

He was born in Summerville, Georgia January 7, 1919 to the late James Alexander and Mary Adams Wofford.

His wife, Nell Wofford preceded him in death along with his son, Jimmy Hamill; grandson, Steve; four sisters, Kathleen Riley, Frances Scruggs, Irene Johnson, Ann Crump, Dean Corley and two brothers, Bluford and Eugene Wofford.

He is survived by three sons, Stanley Wofford, Rick (Shela) Wofford, of Chattanooga, Donnie Wofford of Washington, DC; two daughters, Connie (Randy) Fisher, Charlotte, North Carolina, Judy (Charles) Atkins of Ringgold, Georgia; two sisters, Mary Brookshire of Rome, Georgia, Barbara Wofford of Chattanooga; two brothers, James A. (Bert) Wofford of Ila, Georgia, Don (Evelyn) Wofford of Trion, Georgia; thirteen grandchildren;23 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, July 25, 2011 at Chattanooga National Cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Arrangements by Heritage Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 7454 E. Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, Tennessee.
