Will: I, MARY ANNE BERNARD of Enniskerry in the County of Wicklow, Widow, declare this to be my last will and testament WHEREAS by the settlement dated 30 October 1839 executed on my marriage with my late husband Joshua Lacy Bernard a sum of three thousand pounds being my fortune secured as therein mentioned a sum of four hundred pounds payable upon the death of Rachel Maque the mother of my said husband and a sum of one thousand secured by a policy of insurance on the life of my said husband were vested in trustees therein named IN TRUST after the decease of my said husband to pay the interest of the said trust funds to during my life and after the decease of the survivor of us as to the said trust funds IN TRUST for all on any one or more of the children of our said marriage in such shares and payable at such times as we should jointly appoint and in default joint appointment then as the survivor of us should by deed or will appoint AND WHEREAS there are eight children of said marriage namely Maria Clarke Bernard now the wife of Julius Casement, Joshua William Kitringa Bernard, John Stanhope Bernard, Mary Anne Bernard, the younger, Richard Whateley Bernard and Susanna Jessie Bernard AND WHEREAS the following portions of the said trust funds were during the lifetime of my said husband upon our joint direction and consent and after his decease by my direction and with my consent raised and applied for the advancement in life of the following children that is to say a sum of one hundred and fifty pounds for my said daughter Maria a like sum of one hundred and fifty pounds for my said son Joshua a like sum of one hundred and fifty pounds for my said son John a like sum of one hundred and fifty pounds for my said son Charles and a sum of one hundred and fifty pounds for my said son Richard AND WHEREAS the said several portions of the said trust funds raised and applied asforesaid were paid out of the one thousand pounds insured on the life of my said husband AND WHEREAS a sum of five hundred pounds further portion of the said trust funds being part of my said fortune of three thousand pounds was appointed to and settled upon my daughter Maria upon the said Julius Casement AND WHEREAS the said sum of
four hundred pounds mentioned in my said marriage settlement less by certain expenses paid for succession duty and costs has been lately paid to the trustees of my said marriage settlement out of which they have by my direction and with my consent advanced the sum of one hundred and fifty pounds for the use of my said daughter Rachel NOW under and by virtue of the power given to me in my said marriage settlement and every other power enabling me I hereby by way of appointment ratify and confirm the aforesaid applications of the several portions of the said trust funds for the advancement and use of the aforesaid children and I appoint all the residue of the said trust funds of my said marriage settlement now remaining unapplied and unappointed to my said three daughters Rachel Sophia Bernard, Mary Anne Bernard the younger and Susanna Jessie Bernard share and share alike same never to be liable for the succession duty to be payable at my death for all the said trust funds except the said sum of five hundred pounds appointed to my said daughter Maria on her marriage and in case any one or more of my said three daughters Rachel, Mary Anne and Susanna should die before me or without having been married I APPOINT and direct that the share and shares of such daughter and daughters upon dying shall go to the survivors or survivor of my three last named daughters I BEQUEATH to my said daughter Maria Clarke Casement the miniture picture of my late husband I BEQUEATH to the said Julius Casement during his life and after his decease to my grandson Joshua Bernard Casement the presentation plate consisting of a silver bread basket and two salvers AND LASTLY I give devise and bequeath all the residue of my property subject however to payment of my debts funeral and testamentary expenses to my said three daughters Rachel, Mary Anne and Susanna share and share alike and I appoint my son-in-law the said Julius Casement and my nephew Thomas Courtenay Townsend executors of this my will.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto signed my name this 19th day of December 1876.

SIGNED by the abovenamed MARY ANNE BERNARD as her last will and testament in our presence who at her request and in her presence and in presence of each other have hereunto signed our names as witnesses the name "Joshua" being struck out in the first and last pages and the nae "Julius" being interlined in its stead.
