four hundred pounds mentioned in my said marriage settlement less by certain expenses paid for succession duty and costs has been lately paid to the trustees of my said marriage settlement out of which they have by my direction and with my consent advanced the sum of one hundred and fifty pounds for the use of my said daughter Rachel NOW under and by virtue of the power given to me in my said marriage settlement and every other power enabling me I hereby by way of appointment ratify and confirm the aforesaid applications of the several portions of the said trust funds for the advancement and use of the aforesaid children and I appoint all the residue of the said trust funds of my said marriage settlement now remaining unapplied and unappointed to my said three daughters Rachel Sophia Bernard, Mary Anne Bernard the younger and Susanna Jessie Bernard share and share alike same never to be liable for the succession duty to be payable at my death for all the said trust funds except the said sum of five hundred pounds appointed to my said daughter Maria on her marriage and in case any one or more of my said three daughters Rachel, Mary Anne and Susanna should die before me or without having been married I APPOINT and direct that the share and shares of such daughter and daughters upon dying shall go to the survivors or survivor of my three last named daughters I BEQUEATH to my said daughter Maria Clarke Casement the miniture picture of my late husband I BEQUEATH to the said Julius Casement during his life and after his decease to my grandson Joshua Bernard Casement the presentation plate consisting of a silver bread basket and two salvers AND LASTLY I give devise and bequeath all the residue of my property subject however to payment of my debts funeral and testamentary expenses to my said three daughters Rachel, Mary Anne and Susanna share and share alike and I appoint my son-in-law the said Julius Casement and my nephew Thomas Courtenay Townsend executors of this my will.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto signed my name this 19th day of December 1876.
SIGNED by the abovenamed MARY ANNE BERNARD as her last will and testament in our presence who at her request and in her presence and in presence of each other have hereunto signed our names as witnesses the name "Joshua" being struck out in the first and last pages and the nae "Julius" being interlined in its stead.
