Ralph E. Hickman, 80, of Mt. Morris, died at 4:15 PM Saturday, December 4, 1982, in University Hospital, Morgantown, W. Va.

He was born September 9, 1902, in Mt. Morris, the son of William Lindsay and Lucy Lemley Hickman.

He was a retired Mt. Morris and Morgantown businessman. He built and sold many homes in the Mt. Morris area and acted as an agent in buying land and coal for the Consolidated Coal Company.

Mr. Hickman lived all his life in the Mt. Morris area. He was a member of the Mt. Morris United Methodist Church and was a former member of the board of trustees of the church.

He was the former president of the Mt. Morris borough council, a charter member of the Mt. Morris Volunteer Fire Company and the Mt. Morris Lions Club, a 48-year member of the IOOF Lodge No. 10 of Morgantown, and an active member of the Cedar Grove Cemetery Board.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth Fitzgerald Hickman; two daughters, Mrs. Paul M. (Jeanne) King of Kezar Falls, Maine, and Mrs. Robert (Hilda) Drodge of Mt. Morris; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
