Lemley W. "Cooney" Tennant, 78, of 611 Vermont Ave., died at 10:55 p.m. Sunday in Fairmont General Hospital. He was born at Little Falls Monongalia County, June 6, 1908, a son of the late Minor and Louella Moore Tennant.
Survivors include his widow, Sallie M Brown Tennant, two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Betty) Wiggs and Mrs. Frank (Mary K) Urso; three brothers, Leonard, Leslie and Merlin Tennant; one sister, Lillian Tennant Harding; Six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Three brothers, Lester, Lonny and Charles and one sister Myrtle Tennant Harding are deceased.
He retired a few years ago after working as a linotype operator for the Times-West Virginian for 50 years.
he was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and was a trustee for the lodge.
Burial was at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
