James, a retired truck driver, was a lifelong resident of this area and a member of the N.R.A. He was known to enjoy spending time with his children. He is survived by his loving wife Sandra Kersey; his mother, Dorothy Valentine; sons, Kevin, Keith and Kent Kersey; daughter, Kim Carlier; brothers, Doug and Jack Kersey; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Monday, July 25, 2011 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at the First Black Creek Baptist Church, 3904 SR 16 W., Penney Farms, Florida 32079 with Rev. Bobbie Register officiating. Interment will follow services in the Black Creek Baptist Cemetery. Arrangements under the care of Broadus-Raines Funeral Home, 501 Spring St. Green Cove Springs, FL.
