Death of a Very Old Lady - Mrs. Hannah Savery, the mother of Col. R.G. Savery of Annsville, died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Geo. H. Howland, on Embargo Street in Rome, NY, last Tuesday morning (July 28, 1885), of old age. Deceased was almost 92 years old, having been born in Plymouth, Mass, Oct. 2, 1793.
She was married young, and removed to Annsville in this county in 1817. Her husband, Phineas Savery, died thirteen years ago, since which time Mrs. Savery has resided with her children. She has been the mother of twelve children, of whom, Col. R.G. Savery was the eldest. Three others besides the Colonel are still living -- H.C. Savery, of Annsville, Clifton Savery of Audubon, Iowa, and Mrs. George H. Howland, of Rome.
Remains were taken to Taberg cemetery for interment. (RCJul31/1885)
