Pfc. U.S. Army Vietnam War-Pfc. Peppers was killed in action on 5-18-1968 while serving as a {11B10} Infantryman with Co. A of the 4th Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment, 196th Infantry Brigade. Pfc. Peppers started his tour of Vietnam on February 14, 1968.


He is the son of Mr. Ira S. Peppers of 7252 University Avenue, Chicago, Illinois, and Mrs. Naomi Z. Pierce of 6801 North Parnell Avenue, Chicago.


Awards: Purple Heart Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Vietnam Service Medal with One Service Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Medal.

His brother William Peppers (1940-2023) is also buried in Fort Sheridan National Cemetery.
