Kenneth Ray Bottoms, 70, of Danville, died Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at the UK Medical Center.
Born Nov. 1, 1940, in Washington County, Ky., he was the son of Samuel Ray and Fannie Lou Milburn Bottoms. He was retired from Dana Corp. and was a bailiff for the Boyle County Sheriff's Department. A member of Salt River Baptist Church, a Kentucky Colonel, an avid UK Basketball fan and a big fisherman, Kenneth loved his family unconditionally.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Patsy Neikirk Bottoms; a son, Kenneth "Kenny" Ray (Donna) Bottoms Jr.; three daughters, Terri Bell, Sherri (Ted) Hodge and Traci (Scott) Preston, all of Danville; two brothers, Harvey (Sue) Bottoms and Ronnie (Magoria) Bottoms, both of Danville; nine grandchildren, Brandon (Charla) Preston, Matthew Preston, Kelsey Hodge, Kandace Hodge, Austin Bell, Tristin Bell, Brianna Bell, Stephanie (Dudley) Hardin and Josh Cravens; and two great-grandchildren, Mason and Cason Hardin.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Danville Church of God. The Rev. Brian Montgomery will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Perryville.
Active pallbearers will Steve Raley, Scott Bottoms, Ronnie Bottoms, Jess "Toby" Farmer, James "Jimbo" Neikirk and Steve Pinkston. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren and members of the Boyle County Sheriff's Department.
