Mrs. Mary Vander Loop
Mrs. Mary (Huls) Vander Loop, age 91 years, passed away at the Stanley Hospital Rest Home on Tuesday, April 21st at 3:15 a.m. having been a resident there for 8 days. She had been in quite good health until about six weeks ago. Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. April 24th at St. Ann's Catholic church with Rev. Edmund Cramer officiating and burial in St. Mary's cemetery. Mrs. Vander Loop was a member of St. Ann's Christian Mothers Society.
Mary Huls was born at Hollandtown Sept. 8, 1872 and was married there to Henry Vander Loop on Oct. 4, 1892 at St. Francis Catholic church. They lived there until April 1898 when they moved to the Stanley country on a farm where she resided until her death.
Her husband passed away Mar. 18, 1939. Of her family of thirteen children, 3 passed away in infancy: one son, Raymond in World War II in Italy on Mar. 7 1943; and daughters Mrs. Henry Hoks (Lizzie) at Menasha Aug 14, 1952, Mrs. Peter Henke (Cora) at Stanley June 2, 1957, Mrs. Herbert Bossler (Henrietta) at Port Washington Jan. 30, 1961, Mrs. John Capaul (Minnie) Feb. 1. 1963. Five brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.
Surviving are three daughters: Mrs. Ray Brown (Tillie) of Cedarburg, Wis.; Mrs. Arthur Jacques (Agnes) and Mrs. Henry Frese (Rose) of Thorp; two sons: Sylvester of Stanley and Wilfred of Fredonia, Wis.; 37 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Hattie Haas.
Serving as pallbearers were 6 grandsons: Raymond Capaul, Cornell, Wis.; Bernard Hoks, Menasha, Wis.; Donald Jacques, Milwaukee; Kehlor Bossler, West Bend, Wis.; Donald Henke, Stanley; and Lyle Brown, Cedarburg, Wis.
Out of town relatives were from Appleton, Little Chute, Kaukauna, Seymour, Cadott, Thorp, Cornell, Minneapolis, Jim Falls, Menasha, Port Washington, Milwaukee, Cedarburg, Fredonia, Wis., and also Dubuque, Iowa.
Vanderloop Services
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Vanderloop, resident of Route 3, Stanley, will be held on Friday at 9:00 a.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Stanley, with the Rev. Edmund Cramer officiating. The Parish Rosary will be said Thursday at 8:00 p.m. at the Plombon Funeral Home. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Stanley. Friends may call at Plombon Funeral Home from Thursday noon until the time of services.
