Lawrence was born in Hot Springs, Ark., on July 10, 1946, to the late Louis and Catherine Jones Howard. He was a graduate of Langston High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era and was retired from Arkansas Power and Light Co.
Survivors are his wife Maeola Howard, of Hot Springs, Ark.; children, Warren (Vancenia), of Virginia Beach, Va., Terrance (Ester), of Hot Springs, Ark., Valarie (Anthony), of Malvern, Ark., Deborah (Monty), of Hot Springs, Ark., Jimmy (Rebecca), of Hot Springs, Ark.; a special grandson, Adrian Canady; two brothers, Jerry Howard, of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Vernon Howard, of Detroit, Mich.; sisters, Hattie (Herman) Braxton, of Detroit, Mich., Julia (Pastor Joseph) Lewis, Ocala, Fla., Emily (Alonzo) Cooper, of Las Vegas, Nev.
