Member of the internationally known Balfa Brothers Band; recorded extensively from 1960s through 1970s; active on international folk festival circuit, including performances at the Smithsonian Festival of American Folklife and the Library of Congress Folk Concert series (Washington), the National Folk Festival (Wolftrap Farm), the Mariposa Folk Festival (Toronto), the Newport Folk Festival, festivals in France and Canada, many others; subject of films and television documentaries, including The Good Times Are Killing Me (PBS), Spend It All, and Blues des Balfa (Flower Films). Died, Bunkie, La., 1979.
