Richmond Democrat, November 20, 1879Richmond, Mo.DEATH OF ISAAC DUVALOn Monday night, Nov. 17th, 1879, an aged and respected citizen, Isaac Duval, passed away, at the residence of his son, Leonidas Duval, near Millville, in this county, at the advanced aged of 73 years. Mr. Duval was born and raised in Virginia, but came to Missouri as far back as 1844, consequently a large part of his life had been spent in Ray county. He first settled on the farm now owned by the county and used for a home for paupers. After selling it, he bought and settled on the farm where he died. He raised 4 children. He was a man who commanded the universal respect and esteem of all who knew him; correct and scrupulously honest in all his business transactions; just in his dealings towards his fellow man and always ready to lend a helping hand to the needy, his death has caused a vacancy in his neighborhood that will not be easily filled. He was buried at Hickory Grove Church on yesterday, with all the imposing ceremonies of the Masonic order, of which he was a bright and worthy member. Peace to his ashes
