When Léon Sylvain Brumet was born on 11 April 1894, in Decazeville, Aveyron, Midi-Pyrénées, France, his father, Léon Pierre Brumet, was 23 and his mother, Marie Philomène Pradines Brumet, was 20. He immigrated to New York City, New York, United States in Septmber 1903, at age 10 traveling alone and met his parents in San Francisco. The family later moved to Sonoma County, California to become Poulty Farmers. About 1917- 19 Léon proudly served in the US Army 6th Air Service as a Military Chauffeur in WWI and was deployed in Europe, returning from France in June 2017 to Camp Mills in Long Island, NY. Léon was a truck driver in the 1930s and 1940s, while living in Santa Rosa, California. At age 48 in 1942, he also registered for the WWII Draft. He died on this birthday in 1947, in San Francisco, California, United States, at the age of 53, and was buried in the veteran's Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno, San Mateo, California, United States. Léon never married and was survived by his only brother, Maurice Robert "Morris" Brumet, his nieces, Laurette and Bertha Georgette Brumet, his Aunt Christine Brumet Pelissier and her sons, Andre Auguste and George Pelissier residing in San Francisco, California, his Aunt Albertine Julie "Berthe" Brumet Lavergne and her children, Robert Julius 'Bob' Lavergne and Elsie Lavergne Baker residing in San Bernardino, California and well as his extended family residing in California and in France.
