L. Dewey Hansen, age 93, our beloved and respected husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on May 22, 1992 in Salt Lake City of natural causes.

He was born June 19, 1898 in Hyrum, Utah, the son of Hans Hogan and Emma Ellefsen Hansen. Dewey grew up in Hyrum and moved to Salt Lake City in 1923. He attended Utah State University for two years prior to serving a church mission in the Central States. He married Clara Midgley on October 15, 1924 in the Salt Lake Temple. Dewey worked as a salesman for Granite Furniture Company for over 30 years. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and was a High Priest in the Murray 24th Ward at the time of his death. Those who knew him admired him for his gentle ways.Dewey is survived by his wife, Clara; three daughters, Beverly Morris (Jack S.), Anna Rae Rueckert (H. Sperry), Salt Lake City; Marilyn Drachman Cook (Guy R.), Modesto, California; nine grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren. His greatest love in life was his family.

Funeral services will be held at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Drive on Tuesday, May 26, 1992 at 12 noon, where friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday one hour prior to services. Burial: Salt Lake City Cemetery.
