LEHIGH - Shirley Louise Grossnickle, 69, of Lehigh, died Saturday, July 23, 2011, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Thursday, July 28, 2011, at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bill Kerns officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday and from 10:00 AM until the time of services on Thursday at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Shirley is survived by her four children, Wanda (Jim) Ganeff of Lehigh, Darrel (Kathy) Grossnickle of Lehigh, Debra Miller of Albuquerque, NM, and Barry (Kate) Grossnickle of Silverdale, Washington; ten grandchildren, Ryan, Corey, Bradley (Brittany), Adam, Jordan, Nick, Tony, Alicia, Lauren, Erica, and three step grandchildren, Dezeray, Heather, and Joe; five great grandchildren; three siblings, Ivan Harrison of Fort Dodge, Bruce Harrison of Harcourt, and Patricia Coates of Fort Dodge. She is preceded in death by her parents, six siblings, Gerald Harrison, Delores Pietsch, Ione Robbins, Bennie Harrison, Howard Harrison, and Harold (Butch) Harrison.

Shirley Louise Harrison, the daughter of Arthur and Edna (Horton) Harrison, was born May 4, 1942, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She attended Fort Dodge Schools. Shirley worked at various jobs in Fort Dodge. She was employed with Globe Union, Friendship Haven, Lazy Ike, Sandstone, Center Line, and retiring in 2004 from sales. Shirley enjoyed baking and cooking and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Shirley was considered "Mom" to all of the neighborhood children throughout her life. She will be missed by all.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
