The Springfield Union, Tuesday, December 20th, 1955 p.2. Henry V. Bishop, Henry V. Bishop of 199 1/2 Walnut St. died Monday afternoon at his home after a long illness. He was born in this city Sept. 1, 1916. He was a truck driver and had been employed for a number of years by the M and R Transportation Company. He was widely known as a bowler, and was a member of Equity Court of the Royal Arcanum and of the Teamsters Union. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Joseph[ine] Witkos Bishop, his parents Mr. and Mrs. John Lovering Bishop, son Edward, a brother, John of Agawam. The funeral will be held at Byron's funeral home Thursday at 1:30 with Rev. Ralph C. Crandall, minister of the East Longmeadow Methodist Church, officiating. Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
