Ronald Clifton Williams, 73, of Hoyt Lakes, Minnesota passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Virginia Regional Medical Center in Virginia. A private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with Range Funeral Home in Virginia.
Ronald was born on August 27, 1937 in Moorhead, Minnesota to Clifton and Sylvia (Nyquist) Williams. He attended schools in Moorhead, following school he enlisted into the U.S. Army Reserve and then in the U.S. Navy, serving on the USS Hancock. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Moorhead. On August 3, 1962 he was united in marriage to Sharron Reierson and relocated to the Iron Range where he was employed by Erie Mining Co. In 1996 he retired from LTV after 30 years of service.
Ronald was a member of the Local Steelworkers Union #4108; he enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Twins, playing guitar, he loved horses and also traveling out west.
He is survived by his former wife, Sharron Williams of Duluth, three daughters; Shannon (Craig) Marvel of Princeton, Minnesota, Ronda (Paul) King of Hoyt Lakes, Geraldine Williams of Duluth; two sons, David (Ann) Reierson of Plymouth, Minnesota and Grant (Patti) Williams of Bemidji. Sisters; Francis Holm of Concord, CA, Faye Williams of Fargo, ND, Carolyn Fisher of Fargo, ND; brother Jack Williams of Van Nuys, CA. Seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Ronald was preceded in death by: his parents, sisters, Kathleen Moon, Marjorie Williams, Beverly Williams; brother, Donald Williams.
