Doug Harvey Engstler, the son of Lawrence and Carole (Monson) Engstler, was born February 13, 1965 at Britt. He attended and graduated from Garner-Hayfield High School in 1983 where he was active in sports. Doug continued his education at NIACC and later transferred to UNI in Cedar Falls graduating with a degree in teaching. On August 6, 1994 he married Jodie K. Adams at First Lutheran Church in Northwood. They lived in Clear Lake, IA, Beatrice, NE, Sioux Falls, SD and Tea, SD. Doug was employed as a construction supervisor at Midwest Livestock Systems. Doug enjoyed spending time with his sons. They were the focus of his life.

Doug is survived by his four sons, Nicholas, Zachary, Joshua and Carter; his parents, Lawrence and Carole Engstler of Garner; four brothers, Bruce Engstler of Huntington, W. Va., Kenny (Teri) Engstler of Garner, Larry (Denise) Engstler of Lawndale, CA and David (Deb) Engstler of Garner; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Kevin, in 1975; maternal grandparents, Carl and Fern Monson; paternal grandparents, Harvey and Anna Engstler; a niece, Kayla Engstler; and a nephew, Justin Lunning.
