Verna Lee Casey, 86, of Moore, Oklahoma, passed away on 24 July 2011 at her residence. She was born February 16, 1925, in Broken Bow, Oklahoma to James and Mary Chappell. Verna was preceded in death by her husband G. Monroe Casey; infant son, Ronald Carson Prater; parents, James and Mary Chappell; three sisters: Mattie, Janie and Ruby and last but not forgotten, son-in-law, Paul Allan Tinkham. She is survived by three children; son, Roger and wife Wanda Prater, daughter Sue and husband Roy Swinford, and daughter Barbara Tinkham; eight grandchildren, Tim, Donna, Steve, Crystal, Amber, Heather, Roger and Aaron; eighteen great-grandchildren and one great great-granddaughter. Verna Lee Casey retired from Safeway in 1987. In retirement, she enjoyed her children and grandchildren, fishing, gardening, traveling with her family and shopping for purses and shoes. Like an angel, she had a profound touch on all that she met. She will be greatly missed, and loved always. A graveside service, officiated by chaplain Tim Clausing, was held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, 28 July, at the Moore City Cemetery, 800 SW 4th Steet, Moore, Oklahoma. A family gathering will immediately follow the service.
