John Edward Pritchard
Mr. John Edward Pritchard, age 69, of Marion, passed away Monday, July 25, 2011 at John F. Keever Solace Center in Asheville.
A native of McDowell County, John was born December 18, 1941 and was a son of the late Walter and Edna Burnette Pritchard.
He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He formerly worked at Janesville Products and Drexel Heritage Mfg. In later years, he operated his own saw mill. He will be remembered by his family as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved and enjoyed the outdoors.
Surviving Mr. Pritchard are his wife of 42 years, Sharon Duncan Pritchard, of the home; two children: Gale P. Gilbert and husband Bryan of Spruce Pine and Rebecca P. Ray and husband Steve of Old Fort; one brother, A. D. Pritchard and wife Martha of Marion; one sister, Helen Ramsey and husband Bob of Bostic; six grandchildren: Niki Stockton, Alex Stockton, Joni Stockton, Matthew Gilbert, Lacy Ray and Jacob Ray and a number of nieces and nephews.
Interment will be in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.
